“An armed society is a polite society.”
– Robert A. Heinlein
It’s just not polite to go shooting at people just because you want to steal something. That gives responsible law-abiding citizens the right to fight back.

A clerk armed with a gun fatally shot an armed robber at a Delray Beach convenience store Saturday evening, police said.
Authorities have not yet identified the participants. According to Delray Beach police, the incident began just before 10 p.m. at the Community Food Market at 139 NW Fifth Avenue.
Clerks told police that a man armed with a semiautomatic handgun entered the store and tried to rob them. One of the clerks hid behind the counter and the man fired at him. Another clerk took a weapon and shot back at the robber, police said.
The robber left the scene and the clerks called 911. Police said they found the suspected robber face down and unresponsive a few blocks away from the store, clutching a handgun in his right hand.
The wounded man was taken to Delray Beach Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from a bullet wound to the chest. No one in the store was injured.
Authorities do not know if the incident was related to another convenience store shooting reported at 9:20 p.m. Saturday in West Palm Beach. In that case, a clerk and customer were killed, shot by two men who entered the store and demanded cash.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Delray Beach Police Department at 561-243-7800, or, anonymously, Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477).
The criminal should be a Darwin Award winner for trying to shoot someone in a nation where people have the right to defend themselves. The store clerk should receive awards from the police and bonuses from his employers.
